Sydney, August 28. The Marine Board find that the collision between the Kanahooka and the Centennial was caused by the neglect of the captain of the latter vessel m keeping on the wrojig jside, IJe has accordingly been cjted to appear on Monday to show cause why his certified- should not be cancelled or sus pended. The action of the Government m appointing a Commissioner for the Dunedin Exhibition was under discussion m the General Assembly to night. Sir H. Parkes said it seemed shabby not to take notice of it after what had been done by other colonies. The ap pointment was a compliment to New Zealand. The Free Trade Conference now sitting here has approved of a land tax levied irrespective of improvements,
