RUMORED ANGLO-GERMAN ALLIANCE

It is repotted that an alliance between Germany and England is being arranged on the basis of England protecting German colonies and Germany preventing a Russian advance m the direction of Staraboul and Herat. 'Received April 23, 12 27 p.m.) London, April 22. The "Chronicle" states that Prince Bismarck is trying to arrange for an Anglo-German alliance, England to protect German colonies m the event of war between France and Germany. It is reported that Lord Salisbury is favorable to the proposed alliance if Germany is prepared to make a Russian advance on Stamboul or Herat a casus belli.
