Thomas (late of Mat eon Cox and Co.) reports upon the llvo stock market for the Ashburton district for the week ending April 2nd as follows : —On Tuesday at the Aehburton yards I held my usual weekly sale of aheap, pigs and o»ttle. The total entry consisted of 13,413 aheep 174 rams and 69 oattlo. The late rain havo given an impetus to prloes of all descriptions of stook and the sale proceeded briskly throughout. I sold merino ewes good sound month from 2j 91 to 3s 6d, old and failing from la Id to 2s 6d ; crossbred ewei sound mouth 6s lid ty 7s 4d, falling mouths 4s 6d to 6s ; oroasbrad lambs from 6s 6d to 8s 9d, small ditto 3s to si ; merino wethers good condition 6i 9i ; 6 and 8 tooth crossbred wethers a good line 81 lid, 2 tooth oroasbrad BW«s and wethers 8s 4d, 2 tooth ewes 7a 2d. In oattlo: Fat steers £5 2s 61, £4 12s 6i, £3 12. 6J, £2 17s 6i ; springers £2 5i to £5 si. _ — ; •
