The bright sunny afternoon caused a Urge orotrd to throng the wharf to witness the Governor's departure. There was no oeremony. The Artillery Bred a salute and the band played a few bara of the National Anthem, and Sir William, accompanied by Miaa Jervoia, merely shook hands with a few personal acquaintances and then went ou board the Wairarapa, the steamer moving aw*y from the wharf almost immediately. Judge DennistOD erlil swear Sir J. Prendergast In as acting Governor so soon as bis Excellency has left the coast cf New Zealand.
