(Before His Worship the Mayor, and Major Steward, J P's ) BOCIUES AND VAGABONDS, George tienry Kogerß alias Henrj Munro alias Miller and Thomas Harlej were brought up on remand upon the above charge. Sergeant Felton called the following further evldenoe — William Scott deposed to having seen a maD named Albert Ring' lands at the Royal Hotel on Wednesday last, He (Rlnglaods) was m the bai pirlor with the two prisoners, Ringlande was not sober. Saw prisoner Rogers pu l his hand m Rlnglands trousers pooket and afterwards m bis walstooat pooket, Saw him pass something behind his back to Harley. Bloglanda caught hold of Rogers and said " Give me that mooey " and took rff his onat to fight him. Told the landlord Davis 'what bad occurred. Davis searched Rogers but found do money on him. To prisoner Rogers : Rlnglandi did not tell me he had lott any money. Davis told me be had learohed you. To prisoner Harley : Saw yon patting one of Rlnglands' arms into his ooat but you held it so that he oould not get the other arm In. While you was doing this Rogers was feeling Rlnglands pockets. To the Benoh : I told Davis what I had Been. I did not suggest to him that Harley should be searohed. John Williams deposed that he worked at the Royal. Saw Rogers there on Wednesday. Faw him put his arm round the neck of Albert Ringlands and pot his hand m Ringlanda' peek t. Told him that sort of tliirg wouldn tdo there, Afterwards saw Rogers m the urinal. Ringlnnds pame, m and Rogers caught bold of him, but on being spoken to by witness let him go. Saw Harley m the taproom on the Wednesday with others, but he did not appear to be m Rogers' company more than the rest. Albert Ringiands was at the Boyal on Wednesday. Eaily m tbe morning shouted for Rogers and gave him half-a-orown to get his breakfast, as he had been told Rogers was hard up and couldn't pay for a breakfast. Tcqk the money out of his waistcoat pocket, Rogers oould see that he had more money than tbe halfcrown, Later on while m the bar parlor Rogers took witness by the whiskers with one hand and felt m one of Mb pockets with the other. Witness shook him off. Subsequently Rogers tried it on again this time getting hold of the money m witness' waistcoat pocket. Witness again shook him off. To prisoner Rogers. I lost no money, but you tried very hard to get it. A man named Williams was m the bar at tbe time. This was all the evidence. Prisoner Rogers, on being asked if he had anything to say, stated that Harley was no mate of his and prisoner Harley Btated that he did not come to town with Rogers. < The Benoh said there was amp'e proof that Rogers wa? a "bar Bneak," one of those men who lay m wait to rob others. The evidence was not strong enough to oonnept Harley with him and the latter would, therefore, be discharged with a oaution to be more careful as to the com* pany he kept.
