» . ~ PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION Suakim. Deoember 10. The Dervishes are reported to be reinforced at Handoub. In the reconnaissance yesterday, Colonel Kitchener lost three men. Bvakjm, December 11. A rebel redoubt outside this town has been destroyed. Two thousand men are now assisting m the defence of the trenches. General Grenfell expresses himself confident of success. London, Deoember 10 .It is reported that m the event of the impending attack on the rebel position failing, Great Britain will embark m a war m defence of Lower Egypt, which would probably result m the reconquest of the Soudan. ,It is alleged that the Government instigated the recent reconnatisanct from Suakim m order to find an excuse for sending reinforcements to the uarrison. General Grenfell telegraphs that the enemy are'more numerous than ever, and eager to fight. Orders have been sent to Cairo to forward strong reinforcements to Suakim at once. The necessary force will be drawn from troops on the Mediterranean Stations, A squadron on the 20th Hussars and 300 men of the Welsh Regiment will also be sent.
