The contractors had left the metalling on Malowariog's Road unfinished.—Complaints had been made by several ratepayer with regard to a new water ore-using on the main river road, and the Chairman had given instructions for the same to be made good without delay EXTENSION OF TIME. Mr Siloook wrote with respeot to hli application for an extension of time on hli. metal omtract.— Resolved " That under the circumstances an extension be granted to April Ist j if the oontraot be not then oompltted the penalty will be enforced. BHINGLI. Mr A. MoPhkil asked permission to take a few loads of shingle from the Somerton pit — Application granted. OVERDRAFT. The Bank agent wrote re the Board's overdraft. — The letter waa considered satisfactory, and it was resolved to redeposlt £2,600 for 12 months ; £800 for 6 months, and the balance to current account. A DISPUTED LIABILITY. Messrs Holmes and Loughrey wrote re the claim against the Ellesmere Road Board, stating that that body would pay. £70 9a 5d being half the amount of land purchase money, but they refused to recognise any futther olaim a* no authority is known to have been given for any further expenditure. — It was resolved, to accept the same, although the Board | expreased the opinion that authority was given, and that the two Clerks arranged the work. ANOTHER DIS*UTB. Messrs Holmes and Loughrey wrote to the effect that Messrs Harper and 00. had waited on them stating that Mr W. Anderson was willing to accept £120 for his acre of land taken for gravel purpose*, and forego his olaim for trespass. If he could have the crop growing on it he would accept £110.— Resolved " That an effor of £15 for the land and £5 for the orop be made to Mr Anderson m full settlement for the aore of land and orop." It was deoided that if this be not accepted the matter be fought out. SHINGLE. It was resolved " That before putting more Bh lngle on Mainwaring's Rd»d the present contract should be completed." ' MISCELLANEOUS Mr Allan reported that he had examined some of the croßsiuga made by Oronin, and had found some of them wanting m shingle —Resolved " That no further payments be made to Cronin till the whole work be completed." A shingle pit ou the river road required refencing, as it was at preseut dangerous to the publio using the road. — The Oierfc was instructed to have the same attended to. Mr Tucker was ie:ommeDded to the County Oounoil to Bell dog collars. Acoounts amounting to £145 8s 4i were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned.
