Consols remain at ioof£. New Zealand securities are at last quotations, namely : • 5 per cent 10-40 loan, ioi l^ ;4% per co.it loan, 99^ ; 4 per cent inscribed stock, 95^. Colonial breads! uffs are unchanged.
The total quantity of wheat afloa' for the United Kingdom is 1,970,000 quarters, an increase of 150,000 quarters during the week. New Zealand mutton, prime quality, is selling at 4^d to 4^d per lb. Australian greasy merino fleece wool sgbeing sold privately at an advance of a halfpenny to three farthings on last sales' closing rates. London, January 9. The tone of the wheat market is quieter, but late prices hive been steadily maintained. Two Australian cargoes, of 3000 a_d 2006 quarters respectively, have been sold at 38s. American shipments are increasing, and m consequence New York prices are weaker.
