A MAN KILLED BY A CAT.
Via the Bluff, under date Melbourns, September 25, the following la telegraphed to the Press:— Mr \V H. Solomon, a resident of Macarihur street Ballarat, near the old Cemetery, some days ago, was plfyLg with a cat, which bit him on the hand while frisking about The bite ■was not considered serious by Mr Solomon at the time, tut next day iho hand ai d wrist commenced to rwell, and finally the arm became swollen aa 1 the snfferer, at th- request of friends sought advice at the Hospital, wheio Dr Morrison, the Resident Surgeon, pronounced the case one of blood poisoning, and said rerious consequences would probably ensue. This baa been the cise, for-Mr Solomon d:cd at a late hour last night. His body and his legs and arms were swollen to a considerable extent. The bite appeared anything but serious t> the unfortunate man’s friends, and the Inju'y was considered one thst ether persons had frequently sustained without even inconvenience. Deceased was a strong hea'thy man, about thir-y-six years of age, prc T prietor of a grocery store, and was unmarried.
