HORSE PARADE.

The annual horse parade, under the auspices of the Ashburton Agriculture' and Pastoral Association, was held at the County Saleyards at noon to-day. Holmes, of Oamaru, where, in 1834, he s cured the champion prias as a tbrre-yoar-old at the A. and P Show, and the following year took first prise in his class. In the thoroughbred class, six hoisas were shown, and most of these are well known here. Kingfisher (Mr 0 okson), ‘‘onser (Mr Mar key), and Oa’stcck (Mr Mcßar), hsve all been at former parades, while anlma 1 * such as Johnny Faulkner (Mr Matkay), and Bhrl ngton (Mr Mcll wraith) have a wide repnta lion. Matson snd Co, offered for sale by auction the thoroughbred horse Wizird and tha carriage sire Waif, both belonging to the Lowcliff Company.
