CORN EXCHANGE.

Hib following is the Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday, Ist October: — . x , . .. The grain trade has been very qaiet during the week, and little export trade has taken place. Farmers have taken advantage of the fine weather to push on with their sowing. Wheat has nothing special to report. Outside orders orders are limited, and only small fanners’ parcels are readily taken lor local milling. Prime Tuscan and Pearl remain at 4s sd, Hunter’s at 4s 43, second quality varies from 4s to 4s 3d; chicken wheat is easily placed at from 3s 7d to 3a lOd. Oats A few sales have been made lor shipment to Australia, but the market is languid and prices have not improved. Muling are quoted at 2s 6d; short leed 2s 3d to 2s 4d ; Danish and Tartars, 2s Id to 2a 2d. Barley has nothing Iresh to note, and prices are unchanged. . Beans and Peas—Very lew ©Bering and quotations are nominal. Beans at 3a to 3s 3d, bine peas 4s to 4s 3d. Bye grass has been moving off in small lots to but prices are weak. Machine-dressed is being quit at 6s to 6s 3d; farmers’ parcels range from 4s to 4s 6d. Cocksfoot has not been very brisk At 4Jd to 4Jd for bright heavy seed, an! 3Jd for second quality. . Potatoes have again receded, Sydney advices being anything but bright, and the North Island orders have been all completed. We cannot quote more than 35s to 40s at country stations. . Dairy produce is very weak, and prices last quoted are barely obtainable. The above prices are for delivery f.o.b. Lyttelton, with the exception of potatoes.
