There was a large attendance at Addington yesterday, but not intent upon business, and the sales passed off very slowly. Cattle—There was only a smill locil entry, but 40 head from Fox ton oversupplied the market, and prices were w.aker. The North Islanders wire I’ghtor than previous lots, and soma were badly knocked about. They only averaged £9 a head. Other lines of good bollocks and heifers brought from £7 to £9 with an extra one at £lO 10j. Beef may I e quoted at 23s per 1001 b. Store cat lo were a full entry, and met better enquiry throughout w th the exception of ycnng stock. Three-year-old steers and heifers, £4. £4 10 to £5 a head ; two-year-old, £2 10j, £3, to £3 10s ; yearlings, £1 10s ; dry cows, £3 10a to £4 7s 61, Dairy stock were a poor lot, with the exception of a rice line of springing heifers from Cu ▼ rien, which realised from £4 to £6 a h ad. Other odd lots from £4 to £7.

Sheep were a limited entry, bnt comprised some splendid quality ; and there being a good demand for both shop and freezing descriptions, Improve! values were realised, the advance being about 2« on beat pens, and Is on secondary. Mr S. Garfcrth’s Southdown crosses were a particularly good line, and topped the market at 19j 9d and 17a 3d. Tne Springfield and Snowden merino wethers were also cipital mutton ; and the Laghmor and Hacecoutse Hill cross—bred* quite up to their usual high excellence. Eee' cneebred wethers so'd from 16* to 19i 9! ; lighter and ewes, 13i to 15 1 ; best merino wethers, 10a to 13a 9d ; avrnge, 7a 6d to 9a. Mutton was quite 3d per lb for beat quality, 2£d for ordinary. There was a good representation cf store sheep, and the recent improvement in values was fully mainta'ndd, well-conditioned lines being especially firm. Cross-bred hoggets, 5i 6d, 5s 10J, 6s 3d, Bs, 8a 9d. 9i 3d ; Down cress hosgets, 7a 4.1 : mixed 4-tooth crosi-breds, 9 91 and 10a Gd ; c.oss bred ewes, lambing, 7a 6d ; 2, 4 ahd 6-tootb cross-breda, 10a 4d; merino wethers, 7* Id Piga—There w»s a fall entry of good p irkers, and in some instances a slight concession had to te made to effect a clearance. Prices , anged from. 10s to 20s each, and some tidy bsconera up to 27a 6d. Very few stores ware yarded, and there was no change in values.
