[per press association.] Shipping. Auckland, To-d^y. Arrived—Orontes, barque, Lewis, 103 days, from London ; Weatheratield, ship, Captain Sherris, 113 days, from London ; barque Andew Rees, from New York, via Tasmania. Found Dead.
The body of a child nine years old was found floating in the harbor to-day. It has not yet been identified. Awfully Sudden Death. Wellington, To-day. A very sudden death occurred at midnight. A man named Raymond, a carter, on going home knocked at his door for admittance, and while the door was being opened he fell to the ground, and when picked up life was extinct. Deceased, who had not been long in Wellington, was in good spirits a quarter of an hour before death ensued. It is supposed to be a case of erysipelas of the brain. An inquest is to be held.
