COMMERCIAL.
Winchester Fair. The usual monthly fair was held in the Winchester sale yards, on Wednesday last. About 3,000 sheep and over 160 head ot cattle were submitted, as well as 30 pigs and a few horses. The demand for sheep was not as good as at former sale?, and numbers of those offered were not placed. Cattle were in moderate demand, and a few prime lots changed hands. Subjoined are the lots sold and prices obtained ;—Mr K. F. Gray sold 82 crossbred ewes at 6s 3d, 276 fat sheep at 9s Bd, 48 fat merino ewes at 5s sd, 13 good lambs at 6s 6d, X 65 fat sheep at 8s gd, 135 crossbred lambs at 6s 4d, 1 steer L 5 ss, 2 cows at L 3 2s 6d, and L 3 17s 6d, I heifer L2 15s. Mr Moss Jonas sold joo merino ewes at 4s, 450 half-bred at 7s 6d, 270 lambs at 5s 6d, 8 steers and heifers at L 6 15s each ; lot of cows and steers at from L 4 to LS, 11 weaners at 33s 6d. Messrs Mundell and Co., sold 215 lambs at 6s gd, merino do 4s nd, 39 crossbreds (fat) gs, 6 two-year-old steers at L2 10s each, 15 yearlings 325, 13 pigs at 22s each. Several lots were also sold by Messrs Wildie, Allan, and Stumbles, but we omitted getting their list.
