30 July 1845 Friend, McLean, Greetings. We have great affection for you. Our right over Kaupokonui still stands. Te Ropiha, Te Reweti and my right will be forever, and even after we die, our right over Kaupokonui will not end. And should someone put out a word for Kaupokonui, it would not be right. Te Ropiha and I would fight it forever, we would fight until we all got Kaupokonui back. Friend, Arama has his own right.
