A large crowd watched the' gallops at Rand wick this morning-. - A lot of good workwas done, but nothing sensational. Superb wound up a five-furlong spin in lmin ssec, and Blue Metal and Johansen six furlongs on the grass in lmin 25>ssec. Water Colour traversed a riiile in lmia' 49isee. Severity worked at three-quarter pace over a fivcfurlong course. Le Var, (Jheckmate, and Promontory were associated'once round. Lc Var completely defeated the Derby colt, finishing, up in 2min 4-lsec.; . Plutus beat Bobadil all tho way, in a similar spin, in 2min SSisec. Djin Djin- covered the Epsom distance- in lmin 48Jsec, boating Condiment and Reviver. Cocos easity beat Dewey and Flodden over nine furlongs in-2min B|sec. Cravat

had the call over Sirdar in a mile and aquarter gallop, which was run in 2min 26sec. Many others did steady work.

There is but littleibetting over the A.J.C. meeting, which opens to-morrow. For the Epsom; Handicap, Superb is quoted at 6 to 1, Severity 7 to 1, Ace of Diamonds 8 to 1. Flodden has been backed for the Melbourne Cup to win £5000 at 100 to 3.

Cranberry or Parthian should win the A.J.C. Derby; while Superb, Ace of Diamonds, Carberia and Severity should furnish" the winner of the Epsom Handicap.
