December I.— Mr Giahani addressed a meeting at the school last Friday evening. Mr P. Mackenzie was,chairma«, and the meeting as usual here was a very orderly one. Mr Graham not having been a. member of the House before, had no sins of omission or commission excuse, but he evidently is a strong supporter of local industries, and -of the Bible in State schools. His principles for the support of looal industries were plainly shown by hw telling 11s that the suit that he was then wearing cost 28s, and wa* Masgiel tweed. This appealed > ight to the hearts of many of the audience as showing he woe a candid, thrifty man, not ashamed <to oin'fees he wore a "slop suit." Questions w«r<) asked at the finish, which he answered as well as any trade politician. I believe he will get a good deal of support in this neighbourhood.
