POSSIBLY A CASE OF SUICIDE.-

HAVELOCK, Feb. 16. Frank Sparks, aged 56, about 3 p.m. yesterday asked for a drink of tea. He drank a. glass of oil in which blast-ing-charges for tree-stumps had been soaked.

Dr Williams, of Havelock was summoned, but- arrived too late to avert fatal consequences, and Sparks died at 8.30 p.m.

It is not certain whether the case is one of suicide. An inquest will be held to-day. Jlie deceased leaves a wife and five children. He had been engaged in shearing.
