— — ♦ A meeting of the Committee of the Literary Institute was held laat night, there befog present— Mr B. H. Sooale (Chairman), Meadames Bright and Griffiths, Miss DoubHd, Messrs E. A letter was received from the promoters of the movement for the establishment of a Shorthand Association, asking for the use of the Institute rooms for the purposes of meetings to be held twice a week. It was resolved to grant the request, a nominal rent, estimated at Is 3d a week, to be charged to cover the cost of gas.
