DEMAND OF DANZIG SENATE
NO CUSTOMS INTERVENTION
POLAND'S STAND

LONDON, June 12,
The Polish Government today formally rejected the Danzig Senate's demand for a reduction in the number of Polish Customs officials in the Free City.
The Foreign Minister (Colonel Beck) declared that Poland would not tolerate the Danzig Senate's intervention in Customs matters. He added that if the Polish officials were in any way hampered he would not only further increase the number but would also order economic reprisals against the Free City.
It is reported from Berlin that Germany is strongly protesting to Poland against the shooting of Erwin Lubetski, whom Polish frontier police shot dead as he was attempting to enter Germany, and is demanding an immediate investigation, with punishment of those responsible and compensation for the relatives.
