A number of questions were asked in the House of Commons to-rlav on Danzig.

Co.-ks (Lab., Broxtowe) that certain ..f tho military preparations reported to be taking place at Danzip appeared to constitute a bleach of Article V. of the Danzig Statute, and reaffirmed that Britain is keeping in close touch with Poland and France regarding all aspects of the Danzig situation.

Mr. S. V. Adams (Con., W. Leeds) asked if. in view of these reported illegal proceedings, such as the importations of munitions and arms into the Free City, the Prime Minister would take steps, while there was time, to impress ■in (ierinany the determination of the British people, by sonic physical action such us mobilisation of the Fleet.

Mr. Chamberlain replied: '-The Government will not tail to take any steps wliirli niiiv seem necessary or desirable to make absolutely clear • its attitude, which has already been stated with precision in Ministers' recent speeches."

Mr. Chamberlain was also asked if Britain was consulted regarding, and had fully associated herself with, representations niiidu on Saturday by France to Germany.

Mr. Butler, who replied, said: "Britain was not previously consulted in this particular matter, though she has been kept fully informed by France. Britain's attitude has been made clear in recent statements and there is no divergence of view between the two (loverniiientn."
