HAMILTON BOROUGH LOAN PROPOSALS.

ONLY TWO PROPOSALS REJECTED.

Ihe poll on the loan proposals of the Hamilton Borough Council to borrow a total sura of £3i,iil for various municipil works was ttken yesterday at the Town Hall. Mr S. B. Sims acted as Returning Officer and Mr E. Wilson and T. W. Orr as scrutineers. There wa3 little excitement in the town, either during the day or even in the evening after the results were made known. Six out of the eight proposals were carried. The declaration of the poll soon after eight o'clock showing that the ratepayers had assented to the burrowing of £47,591.
