PERSONAL.
By this morning's north train, Misses F. Evans and R. Haddrell, and Mesdames Louisson and G. Green were passengers for Hanmer Springs. Messrs A. S. Duncan, A. (srr, J. Heasly and J. L. Carl were among the passengers who went south by this morning's express train.
Colonel Hume arrived from Wellington by the s.s. Rotomahana this morning. Mr G. Hogben, Under-Secretary for Education, returned from the Chatham Islands by the s.s. Toroa. His Lordship Bishop Lenihan, of Auckland, is at present in ChTistchurch, and is staying with Bishop Grimes.
