WEDDINGS.

The Shirley Methodist Church was crowded on tho occasion of the marriage of Miss Xellie Emmett, second daughter of Mr A. W. Emmett, of Quinn 's Road, Shirley, to Mr Harry Coleman, elder son of Mr and Mrs L*. Coleman, of Ladbrooks. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a becoming frock of white eolienne silk and georgette. Her veil, of white tulle, was held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. The bridesmaid, Jliss Gertrude Emmett, wore a-dress of white eolienne silk with touches of pink, and white'hat, the brim being lined with piuk crepe de Chine, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink chrysanthemums. The two flower-girls, Misses Ruth and Beryl Emmett, wore dainty frocks of white embroidered voile and white hats lined-with pale blue silk. They curried baskets of white flowers. The best man was Mr T. 'Coleman, brother of tho bridegroom, and the Rev. IT. Speucer was the officiating minister. As the bride entered the church the choir sang "Oh. Perfect Love," and during the service the hymn "The Voice that Breathed o'er Eden." Mr .1. Salkeld presided at the organ, and the "Wedding March" was played as the bridal .party left the church. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion iby the girl friends of the bride, with autumn leaves, golden brown chrysanthemums and white daisies. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the 'schoolroom, where the wedding breakfast was held. Later in the day Mr and Mrs Harry Coleman left by motor for ;tho south, where the honeymoon is being ispent, the bride wearing a nigger brown I costume and hat of violet velvet, with I touches' of fawn.

A prettr wedding was solemnised in St. Michael's and All Angels' Church last week, when Miss Alice Maud Kiuiber, daughter of Mrs Eliza and the late Mr Henry Kimber, of Riccarton, was married to Mr Henry Owen Brooks, of Christchureh. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. Perry, and Mr Worsley presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by Jfr 11. McClelland, of New Brighton, looked charming in a tailored grey costume, with white panne velvet lint lined with heliotrope, and trimmed with silk flowers, her bouquet consisting of autumn leaves, ferns and white chrysanthemums. Miss Ruby McClelland, who acted as bridesmaid, wore a navy costume, vioux rose hat, and carried a shower bouquet. Miss Joyce Catton made ft pretty flower-girl in white muslin trimmed with Indian lace, picture hat to match, and carried a basket of flowers. The duties of best man were I carried out by Mr D. Barker. The bridal partv left the church to the strains of jthe '"Wedding March." The wedding breakfast was held at the Cadena Tea I Rooms, where the customary toasts were honoured.
