WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs Moiuizso.v and Hopkin report for week ending May 18 :—: —

Wheat. — The demand i? hardly so keen and prices are a little easier. We quote : Best velvet, 5a to 5s 2d ; best Tuscan, 4s lid to 5s ; fowls' wheat, 3s fid to 4s. Oats : Tha market is very active, and prices during the week aieagaiu firmer. We quote: Best feed, 2s 4d to 2-s 5d per bushel ; Sutlierlauds, 2s 6d. Barley : Feed sorts are quoted at 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; milling. 3s 3d to 4s ; malting, from -is 6d to ss. Rye-coin, ?,<i 3<l to 3s £M. • Flour : We quote £13. Oatmeal hv 25'e. £13 30s.' Pearl barley, jCSI 10s. Bra;., £i. Pollard, £5. Nelson hops are quoted at Is 3d. Chaff : Extra prime, £3 15s to £4 ; medium, £3 to £'3 12s 6d. Kyegrass : The demand U good for small, shotty seed. We have large orders to fill, and can place any quantity. Fanners' dressed, 2s to 2< lO'l ; machined, 3s 3d to 4s. Cocksfoot, 3J to 3Jd for farmers' lots, and 4}d to s}d tor machined. Linseed (wanted), £12. Tressed straw, 255. Olovar hay, £i. Nitrate of soda, £15. .Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &c, just landing. We can offer all classes of seeds pure and fresh. Potatoes. — The market has been well supplied during the week, but prices are without alteration. We quote : ' Derwents, £6 to £6 10s. Hides, IJd' to 3|d, according to 'weight and condition

Rabbitskins. — The demand during the last few I weeks has been particularly keen, aud prices have | ruling quite 2d to 3d above relative London values. ; Buyeis have come to recognise this, and prices' I this week showed a decline of quite Id to 3J perlb i below those of previous week. We quote : Incom- ! ing?, lid to 13d ; winters, 15d to 16d ; autumns, 8d i to lOd ; summers, 5i to 8d ; guekera and runners, 2d to 4Jd per lb ; best Llacks, 17d. We sell byauction every Monday. Sheenskins.— The demand 13 very keen, and piices firm at quotations. We quote : Dry crossbreds, 2s 6ct to 5s 9d ; inferior, Is 3d to 2s 4d ; dry pelts, 4d to Is 3d ; dry merinos, 2a 3d to ss ; infeiior. Butter. — Pri^ne salt": Demand quieter at lOd per lb. Butter cases, with parchments, 18s per dozen. Cheese : Good Akaroa, 3|d to 4d ; factory, 4 Jd.

Pigs.— For good quality, 4d. Poultry received for sale any day. Roosters (young), 2s 6d to 2s 9d-; hens, 23 to 2s 3d ; ducks (young), 3s to 3s 3d, 1 according to quality. Beeswax (wanted), Ib 2d to Is 6d for prime quality. Fruit. — We receive co-Dsignrneats of all kinds of fruit and garden produce, which we sell either by auction or privately, as we think best in the interests of consignors. Apples : 'Dessert, l*d to 2Jd ; cooking, ljd to 2d. Pears : Dessert, 2£d to 3Ja ; cooking, Id to 2d per lb. Tomatoes, 4d to 4Jd per lb ; bananas, 2d to 2Jd per lb.
