Mr J. F. Watson reports ior the week ending July 4:— Business during the last few days has been brisk. Welcome, Keep it-Dark, Fiery Cross, and Just-in-Time shares have changed hands at advanced prices. The Welcome return was 676.0z of amalgam from 9O 1 tons of stone. Keep-it-Dark, 6860z of amalgam from 170 tons of stone. A dividend of Is per share ha 3 been declared. ■ The mining manager of the Fiery Cross Company reports that the reef in the intermediate level is sffc thick, showing good gold, and likely to average 3oz to the ton. —The Just-in-Time mine will scon be in active operation; the winding gear being near completion.—The Globe Company expect to have all works completed hy August 1 The reef is welD opened out, and the drives are blocked with stone. — Th« Oriental Company have a large quantity of oton: to put through the battery. —The Southern Cross Company have struck a lode of promising stone from 12 to 15 inches thick.— lnglewood Extended Company have good stone in the low level, which has been risen 50ft. Bendigo Gully.— The Cromwell Company's return from about 400 tons of stone was £6Soz of retorted gold. Macetown.— The Tipperary Company are on good stone. — The mihing manager of the Premier reports favourably on the present appearance of the etopes, and expects to have a large quantity of stone out for crushing. Quotations. — Welcomes, £6 ss; Keep-it-Dark, 57s 6d ; Fiery Cros--, 13* 6d ; Justin-Time, 6s ; Oriental, 7s 3d ; Globes, 7a ; Tipperary, 14s ; Premiers,'6s 9d. An extraordinary meeting of the shareholders of the Saddle Hill Gold-mining Company was held yesterday afternoon at the Company's office. Rules were adopted, and Messra Heeles, Ford, Fitchett, and Calvert wero elected directors. This was the only business transacted.
