GLEANINGS.

A veterinary surgeon in Sydney states that he has a young heifer giving a bucket of milk daily, and yet she has never had a calf. He considers it rather a rare thing, and worth inspecting. A Hartford vetesinary surgeon has oured several cases of lookjaw in horses by minuta doses of Prussic acid. Why would not tho same remedy apply to human cases ? Farmers are beginning to learn that early-cut grass makes a more agreeable food for animals than if it is left until dry and hard.

While all good farms do not belong to good farmers, good farmers usually own good farms. They make them so.

A Kentucky farmer is said to have condensed his practical experience into these ruiea : "Feed your land before it is hungry, rest it before it is weary, and weed it before it is foul."
