The proceeds were m aid ol *ho l'atnotic Association's Relief .Fund. Christian Brothers opened with the gale in thoir lavour, and shortly after the start Newman scored for Cnnstian Brothers wath a cieau shot. With fine dash Northern swept the length of the field, and Donald, with a stoning drive, netted. One ah. Aided by the wind Christian Brothers pressed hard. "JLhrioe the goal was in serious danger, 'iut Cameron was active, and cleared his goal cleverly. In a collision Moynihan was njured, and retired dazed. Delence was deftly turned into attack by Dryden. Campbell carried down, and drove well out to biie lett. Evans beat his man and centred,' Tim-,! lm steadied, and Campbell found the net w.th a high shot. Moynihan now returned to the hold, but appeared limp. Blinding sleet drove in the face of Northern players, but despite it they staved off attacks and took tlfe aggressive. The forwards moved brightly, and presently Evans tapped to Campbell, who swung out to the right, and Donald drove a ground shot, which Stapleten's foot just touched as it went into tlio net near the post. Half-time was sounded with the scores: Northern 3 goals, Christian Brothers X goal. The wind in their favour, Northern were at once aggressive, but failed to call upon the goalkeeper. Christian Brothers rallied, and twice were dangerous. Newman broke through rcsultlessly, and Tarleton and Salmon shot nicely, Cameron holding safely. Northern forced back, and after a battle of wits between Campbell and Wakelin the ball was placed out to Donald, ajid returned by him to Timlin, who, with a 6mart shot, scored a worthy goal. From the kick off the Brothers broke away on the right wing. W. Evans frustrated, and in a moment V. Evans was sprinting for goal, to beat all opposition and score Northern's fifth goal. Undismayed, the Brothers pluckily faced an uphill fight, and won their way to Cameron, but the defence was sure, and presently Northern were again attacking. EXECUTIVE v. REFEREES. . Prior to the Charity Banner final the annual match between teams representing the O.F.A. Executive and the Referees was played on the Caledonian Ground. Facing the blast the Executive could make very little progress, while the Referees, by dint of capable footwork and the faculty for using their opportunities, laid in 4 goals, the scorers being Brown (2), Preston, arid the right-winger. With the conditions reversed and a hailstorm thrown in to the disadvantage of the Referees, the Executive contrived to keep in an attacking position, and, in spite of hard kicking and the missing of opportunities in other ways, managed to find the net thrice, Haig, Rae, and M'Hutcheon being the fortunate. The beet shot of the day, a clinking drive by Beeby from nearly halfway, crashed against the crossbar and rebounded into play. The spectators took a keen interest in the game, furnishing the officials at play with many useful hints and some salutary admonishings which added the flavour of amusement to the match. Mr D. Anderson proved an alert referee, and ruled the game with nioe discrimination. Referees 4 goals. O.F.A 3 goals. SCHOOLS' FIVE-ASIDE TOURNEY. The tournament for A Grade Schools was played at the Oval.
