INFLUENZA VACCINE
AMERICAN DISCOVERY AVAILABLE FOR WAR TEST [from orr own cokresponhe.nt] XFAV YORK, Nov. JK The .Rockefeller Foundation is preparing to make available large quantities of its newly discovered vaccine against influenza to combat the possibility of a war-bred epidemic in Europe. Already the British have indicated informally their desire to try the vaccine, and the Hockl'eller foundation, through its international health division, is preparing to make available 1.000,000 doses if the British ask for the vaccine, which has yet to meet it;- test in an epidemic. Through its health commission to Europe, the foundation is kept informed of conditions and of possible needs. If will make no shipment of v.Heine until it receives a request and know;, what quantity will be needed. Inasmuch as the new vaccine was discovered only last spring by Dr. I 1 rank I;. I lorslaH and Dr. E. 11. Lenuet te of the foundation's international health division, there has been no opportunity to make a conclusive lest of its value. .Mure than 1(H) volunteers of the foundation's staff have submitted to injections, however, and through them it has been determined that the vaccine definitely raises the number of protective antibodies against influenza.
