CENTENNIAL PLANS
TAURANGA DECISION [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Friday The Tauranga Centennial Commemoration Committee decided to undertake the development of a recreational area as a Centennial memorial. Two proposals discussed were that for a museum and for the development of a recreation ground. The voting was 19 to 16 in favour of the recreation ground proposal. The Mayor reported that the dates fixed for Tauranga celebrations were January 2 to 6 and 13 to 28, 1.940, and the King's Birthday, June 5.
DARGAVILLE MEMORIAL CHILDREN'S PLAYING AREA [by telegraph—own correspondent! DARGAVILLE, Friday A unanimous decision that the Centennial memorial in the Hobson zone should be a children's playing area and a rest room was made by members of the zone committee, which also decided to ask the Dargaville Borough Council to set aside the unused portion of the site adjacent to the Municipal Chambers for the purpose.
