£247,000 WATER SCHEME
OPPOSITION IN RUAWAI [by telegraph—own cohrespondknt] DARGAVILLE, Friday Opposition to the Public Works Department's proposed £247,000 scheme for the supply of water over an estimated area of 53,000 acres in Ruawai, portions of the Hobson and Otamatea counties and Dargaville borough, was voiced at a meeting of the Ruawai branch of the Farmers' Union, which decided to have nothing to do with the scheme in its present form. It was stated that the tax on land would be in the vicinity of 4s an acre.
