NEW ZEALAND'S SYSTEM. SOUTH AFRICA INVESTIGATING. i [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN. Saturday. Major R. T. McArthur, chief engineer of the Post and Telegraphs, Union of South Africa, has begun a tour of New Zealand as commissioner from the South African Government to inquire and report on the working of the department in this country, particularly regarding the development of automatics and New Zealand methods of rural telephone distribution. He will conclude his tour at Auckland, and will be accompanied by Mr. E. A. Shrimpton, chief engineer of the Now Zealand department.
