WATERSIDE PROBLEMS.
REFERENCE TO COURT. CLAIMS FOR SPECIAL RATES. [BY TELEGP.AI'H.—rRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. The Arbitration Court reserved its decision in the Wellington waterside dispute as to whether Harbour Board men receiving cargo from a hatch in which the inflammable oils are stored, but are not being worked, or from which a gang is discharging such oils, are entitled to the, oil rate of -pay under the Waterside Workers* Award, and under decision 33 of the National Disputes Committee. Tho Court also reserved its decision in the Lyttelton dispute as to whether men are entitled to an extra rate of pay for trimming coal discharged from the Waikawa by a transporter grab, irrespective of whether they are working in the hold where the transporter is at work or not.
