JAPAN'S ARGUMENTS
REOPENING OF YANGTZE
NO BRITISH ACCEPTANCE

TOKIO, November 24.
The British Ambassador, Sir Robert Craigie, informed the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs that the British Government does not accept Japan's arguments against the reopening of the Yangtze.. .
The Foreign Office spokesman said that the Pearl River will shortly be reopened, this depending on strategical necessity. A Canton message states that the Japanese have warned the British Consul there that operations against the Chinese are to be extended to the borders of territory leased to British subjects.
