OLD GIRLS' ASSOCIATION

Tho third aunual meeting of St. Clary's Coilogo Old GirJs' Associntion was held in the new Assembly Hall on Monday. The hall was decorated with flowers, and a nice fire gained the appreciation of the some 60 members present. A number of apologies for absence from tho meeting were received, including one from the patron, the Ecverond Mother de Sales, who ivas unfortunately indisposed: The balance-sheet disclosed a. credit balance of £21 13s 2d. The report, which was adopted, stated that the past year was one of the most successful the association has had. During the year the social activities included two social evenings, two bridge parties, and a Yankee t(mj;nanient which were particularly well patronised. Th 6 scholarship donated annually by the association, tenable at St. Mary"'s College for two years, was won by Miss Barbara Crombie. Tho committee regretted the death of .one of its keen members in the person of Miss H. Keys, of Upper Hutt. A motion of sympathy with her mother and sisters and also to the members who had suffered bereavement during the year was pussed, Tho com-mittee-thanked those who had so generously contributed towards the funds of the association during the year.

The ni«i*bers placed on record their appreciaticn of the many acts of kindness received through the hands of the Sisters during the year. A full programme of social'functions was arranged for the ensuing year, also a reunion of members extending over a weekend; at a date to be arranged later. The election of officers resulted as follows:—-Patron, Reverend Mother de Sales; president, Mrs. E. Logan; vice= presidents, Mesdamcs I. Duncan, H. W. Nash, Weybourno, Gibbs, Lynch, Peare, and Miss M. O'Neill; hon. secretary, Miss Dorothy Dealy; assistant secretary, Miss Nancie Williams; treasurer, Miss Maisie Beeves; committee, Misses A. Saunders, N. Anderson, E. Breunaii, F. Carter, Z. Bright, M. Bedican, and P. O'Connor.
