Hull, England, seems determined to no longer allow London and Liverpool to eclipse her in the handling of New Zealand produce. A file of reports which Mr. T. E. Donne showed to a representative of tho Post this morning forcibly proves that Hull is bent on making the liners from these seas go to her arms. This port claims that it serves a population of ten millions, and has steamers going regularly every week to all near continental ports, the Baltic, and Scandinavian ports. Hull is glowingly represented to be a very convenient distributing centre, with port charges "exceedingly low compared with London and Liverpool." An agent from Hull will soon be making a pilgrimage through New Zealand. Those persons who are in tho habit of sending Christmas greetings by telegram will be interested, to learn that the Postal Department has instituted a pleasant innovation this year. Formerly one could for sixpence send to his (or her) friend tho stereotyped message on -a telegraph form, "Wishing you a Merry^ Christmas and a Happy New Year." On (his occasion, however, the .department will, for the same sixpence, send the samo message printed on the back of a postcard, bearing somo typical view of New Zealand scenery. The views, which have been prepared by the Tourist Department, number sixty, and arc of interesting diversity, repie- 1 senting, as they do, views of'ihc Hot Lakes distru-t, Cook Islands, Southern Alps, Maori warnois, the .principal towns and scenic spots, Maori divings, co.irhlng scenes, and so on. Tho innovation bids fair to prove exceedingly popular..
