A VICTORY IN SOMALILAND.

A force, consisting of 2200 regulars and , 1000 irregulars, under General Manning, advanced on January 11th to Jidbolli, where 5000 Dervishes were assembled. The mounted force, under Litut.-Colonel Kenna, attacked the enemy's right, while the infantry advanced to within 700 yards of the Dervishes, who attempted to charge and then broke and fled.
The enemy wore pursued for ten miles, losing 1000 killed, while many prisoners were taken and 400 rifles were captor^'. Sir Charles Egertan tliinks that the Mullah's main force was engaged. The Mullah was not present, and it is supposed that he is encamped l in the Shilo Modu hills, eight hours' march from Jidbolli. >
