NEW SOUTH WALES POLITICS.
THE LAND AND INCOME TAX BILL. Pre_ Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Sydney, December 4. The Legislative Council, after a short adverse debate, adopted the report of the Tax Conference on the voices without amendments. In the Legislative Assembly the Council's message agreeing to the report was adopted. The Premier said the Speaker had ruled that a Taxation Bill was not a money Bill, and it ill became him to make the House assert it; but it might be a question before the end of the session whether it was necessary to pass a resolution with regard to the matter. He would consider the position, but in the meantime he did not intend to act in contravention of the decision of the Speaker, and the Taxation Bill would now become law without further delay. In the Assembly the Premier made a Ministerial statement, hoping that the session would be ended by the 20th. He expected to pass the Taxa - tion, the Federal Enabling, the Public Service and one or two other important Bills before adjourning. In the Council the Land and Income Tax and Customs Abolition Bills were passed through Committee without amendments.
