NORSEWOOD.

A special meeting of the Norsewood Road Board was held on August 13th fco' consider the expenditure of deferred thirds. Present —Messrs Nordbye (Chairman), J. Johansen, and A. Andersen. • The following are the roads on which it is proposed to expend the £106 11s 7d due from deferred thirds : — Block lll— Youngqvist and Mapawatu road, £10, forming and metalling j J. Andersen's road, £10 for forming and metalling ; and Ngamoko main road, £7 17s 2d, forming and metalling. Block VI, Norsewood Survey District — Mr Thomson's road, £15, forming and metalling; Dahl's road, £22 11s 9d, forming and metalling; A. Larsen's road, £5, culverts, etc. Block V, Takapau Survey District —,£l6 9s Bd, only one road, culverts and formation. Matamau Village— £3 14s lid for clearing streets. Bldck XIII, Umutaoroa— £ls 8s Id, forming and metalling. The proprietors of the Hall situated in the Norsewood Village are determined to keep things in going order, and have now purchased some very good skates (the Ideal brand) which are a very great improvement on those generally used. The first trial of the skates was made on Saturday last, when they were lent to the public free of charge, and skating and falls were kept up till 10 p.m., when the ladies and gentlemen decided to finish up with a dance, which of course, was only short, as they would not break the Sabbath.
