CLUB MEMBERS' DEATHS.
Reference to the deaths of Sir Oeorge Richardeon and Messrs. John Farrell, A. Marriage and J. Bruton was made when the annual meeting of the Auckland Orphans' Club was held in the Lewie Early Hall on Saturday. Members stood in silence as a tribute to their memory.
The opening of the eeason was fixed for Saturday, April 29.
Officers elected were:—Patron, the Governor-General, Viscount Galway; president, Mr\ C. G. Brookes; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. S. Poole, J. P. Howden, E. W. Batey, T. Sparling, L. P. Leary, C. J. Garland, C. L. Grange and Dr. J. C. Andrews; committee, Messrs. W. Packman, E. L. Sibun, W. J. Bates, G. P. Roberteon, J. Walsh and I. Dow; secretary, Mr. Percy Hamblin; treasurer, Mr. Hugh Wylie; auditors, Messrs. E. D. Elliott and Val Kirk; conductor of orchestra, Mr. 1. J. O'Connor; leader of orchestra, Mr. H. Sommerville; programme organiser, Mr. Haydn Murray; pianists, Messrs. Len Elliott, Eric Waters, R. Caulton and Reg. Ward; chief steward, Mr. W. J. Scott.
