CANTERBURY CLUB.

There was a hu'ge attendance at the monthly meeting of the Canterbury Club, when Dr. E. G. Savers gave an address on conditions in the Solomon Islands, where he spent some years as a medical missionary. The success of modern methods in the treatment of native diseases was described, and the work of the Rockefellow Institute was eulogised by the speaker. For certain diseases a treatment which cost 3/ per injection, lie said, was freely used and paid for by the institute at a total cost of many thousands of pounds per year.

The chairman, the Rev. R. G. Coats, who also spent some time in the Solomon Islands, supplemented the address given by Dr. Sayers.
