Western front Advances
The British 2nd Army has pushed through to the river Weser and has secured bridgeheads around Minden. The city of Osnabruck was by-passed and later captured by airborne troops. Stubborn resistance is expected to crumble for the German flank is threatened.
Tank spearheads are advancing fast 60 miles from Bremen. British and Canadian forces have been advancing as much as 40 kilos, a day in the Netherlands.
