APPOINTMENTS TO AND PROMOTIONS IN THE SECOND NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

Staff. Colonel C. G. Powles, C.M.G., D. 5.0., Retired List, is appointed to Active List, N.Z., Staff Corps, and is appointed Camp Commandant, Waiouru Military Camp, with pay and allowances of a Lieutenant-Colonel. Lieutenant-Colonel R. C. Wickens, D. 5.0., V.D., N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Camp Commandant,. Military Camp, Addington, and is appointed Officer Commanding, Composite Battalion, Territorial Force, Burnham Camp. Captain (temp. Major) J. G. C. Wales, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Officer Commanding, No. 1 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed Commandant, Northern Military District School of Instruction, Narrow Neck. Major T. A. H. Oliphant, M.C., N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Qamp Commandant, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia, and is appointed Officer Commanding, No. 1 -Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Captain G. H. Macan, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 3rd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps, and retains the appointment of District Supply Officer, Southern Military District. Captain P. A. Bergman, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of District Transport Officer, Southern Military District, and is appointed Adjutant, 3rd Composite Company, N.Z. Army Service Corps. Captain F. Mclntosh, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Acting Commandant, Southern Military District School of Instruction, Burnham, and is appointed Chief Instructor, Southern Military District School of Instruction (Addington Wing). Lieutenant L. A. Kermode, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, No. 1 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Burnham, and is appointed Assistant Infantry Training Instructor, Mobilization Camp, Burnham.

Lieutenant W. B. Fitchett, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Second in Command, Natjpnal Military Reserve Guards, Weilington, and is attached to the Instructional Staff, Mobilization Camp, Trentham.

Captain S. Mellows, M.8.E., N.Z. Temporary Staff, ceases to be at-

tached to the Staff of the Supply and Transport Branch, Army Headquarters, Wellington, and is appointed Supply and Transport Officer, Waiouru Military Camp. Majoi’ R. W. Haddow, D.C.M., N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Quartermaster, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, and is appointed Quartermaster, Waiouru Military Camp. Captain L. R. Neilson, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Quartermaster, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Captain (temp. Major) J. M. Reidy, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Commandant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Wellington, and is appointed Commandant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Tauherenikau. Captain W. G. Bassett, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Commandant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Tauherenikau, and is attached to the Camp Instructional Staff, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Lieutenant A. P. F. Neesham, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Company Commander, Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is appointed Assistant Quartermaster, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia. Captain K. B. McKenzie-Muirson, M.C., N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Company Commander, No. 2 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham, and is attached to the Central Military District School of Instruction, Wellington. Captain K. B. McKenzie-Muirson, M.C., N.Z. Temporary Staff, ceases to be attached to, and is appointed Commandant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Wellington. Captain G. F. Yerex, N.Z. Staff Corps, ceases to be attached to the General Staff Branch, Army Headquarters, Wellington, and is appointed Adjutant, Waiouru Military Camp. Captain E. J. Browning, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of District Supply and Transport Officer, Northern Military District, and is appointed District Supply Officer, Northern Military District.

Lieutenant T. Bassett, N.Z. Temporary Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant District Transport Officer, Northern Military District, and is appointed District Transport Officer, Northern Military District. 2nd Lieutenant (acting Captain) D. 0. Williams, N.Z. Temporary Staff, ceases to be attached to the Adjutant-

General’s Branch and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Intelligence), Army Headquarters. Lieutenant A. M. Jordan, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, The Auckland (East Coast) Mounted Rifles, and Assistant Area Officer, No. 2 Area, Paeroa, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Training, Territorial Force), Army Headquarters, Wellington. Captain and Quartermaster (temp.) J. W. Evers, N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant to the Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer, is appointed Ordnance Mechanical Engineer, vice Lieutenant F. D. McWha, N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, seconded to 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and retains the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Lieutenant N. C. Shepherd, N.Z. Temporary Staff, ceases to be attached to the Camp Instructional Staff, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia, and is appointed Adjutant, Mobilization Camp, Ngaruawahia. N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps. The undermentioned Staff Cadet, on graduation from the Royal Military College of Australia, to be Lieutenant, on probation for twelve months.
