NEW APPOINTMENTS. A number of new appointments of officers in the military forces are contained . in the current issue of the Gazette. _ They are: New Zealand Temporary Staff. — Captain (acting Major) J. A. S. Mackenzie, New Zealand Dental Corps, relinquishes the appointment of principal dental offcer at Papakura camp and the acting rank of major on- beI ing seconded, for duty with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force; Lieutenant T. V. Anson, 8.D.5., to be captain, and is . appointed principal I dental officer at Papakura camp, with I the acting rank of major. Regiment of New Zealand Artillery. Captain L. P. Leary, M.C., Royal Field Artillery (retired), to be captain (temporary) and is posted to headquarters of the Ist Artillery Brigade Group; - Lieutenant F. M. Moore, from the reserve of officers to be lieutenant- and is posted to the 13th Heavy Battery; Lieutenant (temporary captain) E. K. Clarke, 13th Heavy Battery, is transferred to the reserve of' officers, supplementary list; Mr. N. W. H. Bonham to be lieutenant and quartermaster and is posted to the 13th. Heavy Battery; Second Lieutenant M. I. Stratton, 18th Anti-Air- • craft Battery, is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant; Second Lieutenant J. Bayldon, retired list, to be second lieutenant, and is posted to headquarters of the Ist . Artillery Brigade Group. ",Corps of New Zealand Engineers. Mr. C. J. W. Parsons, A M., (N.Z.), 1.E.,. (later lieutenant, the Wellington Regiment), to be lieutenant and is ■ posted to the Ist Field Company. Infantry.—The following to be second lieutenants (temporary) and are posted to the Ist Battalion;. Auckland Regiment (C.R.0.) : Messrs. T. G. Gerard, W. H. Paterson, C. C. Campbell ' and I. G. O’Neill. Ne Zealand Medical Corps. Mr. V. C. Martin, M. 8., Ch.B., to be lieutenant, Northern Military District (unattached). New Zealand Chaplains . Department. The Rev. A. H. Lowden to be ? chaplain, 4th class (Presbyterian), Area 1.
