Drink Bill. The Drink Bill totals £36,352,413 lor 1959 which equals £15.14.7 per capita. This is the highest in New Zealand history, due entirely to increased prices. W ine consumption was up to 405 gallons per capita (previous year 295) but spirits consumption was down to .377 gallons per capita (previous year .523) and beer was down to 18.533 gallons per capita (1958 was 19.88 )
