Assistance Required
(A True Story)
The Directors of a certain South Island business firm were organising the opening celebrations of their large, new shop. Two of them were Church men and, as such, were unwilling to attend a cocktail party. One of them rang the President of the local W C.T.U. and asked if there was any pamphlet giving warnings about the dangers of drinking, a* set forth in the Bible. The President took down copies of “Wines of the Scriptures” and these served to save the situation.
This story reminds us, that even persons who have no connection with the Union, look to us to he authorities on the subject of alcohol and to be at their service when they requir? assistance.
