CONVENTION PICNIC AND LAUNCH TRIP
On Saturday, after the morning session, delegates were taken by buses to Picton. where lunch was served by the Picton ladies on the foreshore, and in beautiful sunshine a very happy time was spent. Later, a most enjoyable launch trip was taken and the beauties of the Sounds were revealed to many who had not been privilege 1 to visit these parts heretofore. When weary delegates' and hostesses returned to Blenheim, they found a sumptuous tea awaiting tl. *m at Wesley Hall, and this was served by the ladies of the Salvation Army. Fallowing tea, an informal evening's entertair.men w«*s much enjoyed. The girls and boys of the i/ethodist Intermediate Choir sang delightful hymns and received long applause. Membeis learnei “How not to run a W.C.T.U. meeting,” demonstrated by Dominion and other officers. Sorgs were sung by Mrs. Emery and Mrs. Joseph, Mrs. Fwart-Smith, and Mrs. Phillips, and recitat ons by Mrs. Woodcock. Film strips of the F oyal Wedding and of the operator’s trip to Canada and U.S.A. were shown and appreciated.
