DOMINION VICE-PRESIDENT 1949
MRS. H. N. TOOMER After several years of work in many and varying capacities, Mrs. Toomer is to l>e congratulated on having been elected to the position of I>Qniinion Vice-President. A* Secretary for the Nelson Union, President later, and as District President, Mrs. Toomer made a fine contribution to the work of our I’nion, in her own district. In tlie field of Youth work she has blazed a trail for others to follow, as wav shown in the # article in the “ v outh Work” series in our last number. In 1946 Mrs. Toomer wa* elected to the office of Corresponding Secretary for the l)oniinion, following °n the retirement of Mrs. Mitchell. e have all enjoyed receiving Mrs. loomer’s bright, inspirational letters commenting on the meetings of the Nonunion Officers, during the three years since she took this over; and her spiritual approach to our work an d its problems has been evidenced therein very clearly. .As a member of the Methodist Church, Mrs. Toomer does an out-
standing work in local preaching. Her services are anticipated with eagerress, and her standing is high mnong her hearers. We pray for her success in tnew position. Already, Mrs. Tooro-r has used the opportunity thus brought to her, by visiting and organising. Her very charming personality, wide experience, and earnest desire for the furthering of our work augur well for her success. Our best wishes go out to her, as wc pray that health and strength may be given her for her new tasks.
