PARCELS TO BRITAIN It will probably be of interest to W.C.T.U. members to know' that food parcels to Britain may be sent free of cost if sent through the Red Cross. They would then be distributed to the most necessitous cases by the Food Allocation Centre, London. Mr. Hackett, Postmaster-General, said in the House that “unaddressed food parcels for despatch in hulk to the Food Allocation Centre, London, may he forwarded without prepayment of freight, to the Joint Council of the Red Cross and St. John in Wellington, and to the Red Cross at any other of the three main centres. The Red Cross arranges despatch in hulk, and such gift parcels are distributed in

Great Britain by the Ministry of Food to the most necessitous cases. This method of despatch has the advantage of conserving shipping space, and at the same time, ensures equitable distribution amongst those whose need is greatest. All freight and packing charges up to the stage of shipment, are !>orne by the New Zealand Government, and the actual sea freight is l>orne by the United Kingdom Government.’’ -C. JAMIESON. MEN AND WOMEN OF “J” FORCE Members are asked to forward good novels, “Wild \\ est ones also, magazines, Church and Temperance periodicals, to the men, girls and women, of the “J” Force in Japan. They may he sent to known individuals, to those who speak over the air, to chaplains, or to the Station Libraries. A suggestion is also added that Temperance Clippings might he used. They can be pasted on fly leaves, etc.

PEACE AND ARBITRATION REPORTS

The Dominion Superintendent, Mrs. Mackie, whose health has suffered as the result of heat whilst she has been in the U.S.A., asks that Union reports on Peace and Arbitration should be sent to her at the following address:— c/o Mrs. Lee Cowie, 1311 North Mentor Avenue, Pasadena California, U.S.A., where she expects, to remain till after Christmas. These reports should be sent as soon as possible after the District Conventions to he prepared for Dominion Convention.
