Marlboriwgh. —Mrs. V. Underhill in Chair. Resolution of symj>athy with Mr. A. J. Fisher and family, in death of Mrs. Fisher, pioneer n.ember of Blenheim Union; also with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. T. Doggett, in loss of son, Sgt.-Pilot Jack; and Rev. and Mrs. (». F. Stockwell, Thames, in death of Winston, late 3rd Echelon, N.Z.E.F. returned. Carried in silence. CorresiKmdtnee with Police Headquarters was dealt with, the President explaining her action during the quarter, and its results. Attention was drawn to the fact of girls of 16 being manpowered to undesirable places, and it was resolved to take steps to prevent this. President reported negotiations with local theatre regarding screening of education films, the Secretary to write Ixxik•ng the films. Preliminary matters of District Convention discussed. Meeting oil 3rd Friday in August, in order not to clash with Women’s Monthly Day of Prayer.

North C\wtrr/>ury — Mrs. C. W. Barrel! presided over a good attendance of town and country members. Devotions taken by Mrs. F. j JAC Giiug. Mrs. Lovell-Smith reported on a Temperance film which had been shown to Training and Technical Colleges, Y.M.C.A., several camps, four Churches, and the hospitals. Arrangements were finalised for the Welcome Gub Tea and Supper to I»e given by W.C.TU. members. Several members offered to pack soldiers’ parcels. As this is F’eace Month, arrangements were made for speakers for several meetings.
